The door knocker purchased at the secondhand store in Crete (Greece). From the new thing to the old thing, the form of a hand, the dolphin, the lion, etc. were variously sold at the store. Although it was unknown whether it was the thing actually used, time was taken in the bolt for attaching in a door being severely rusty, and removing.

The hand of Fatima has the symbol nature as a charm in the Islamic cultural sphere, and is used for the pendant top besides a door knocker etc. In the case of accessories, it is not the form of such a left hand in many cases. It has changed to the symmetry form.

In Islam, a left hand must be "impure." However, I do not understand why this motif is a left hand.

Although there is occult "Hand of glory" in the charm which carried out the form of a "hand", that is not right here. Mrs. Fatima's (at prophet Muhammad's daughter, it is the wife of the 4th generation caliph of the Fatima dynasty) hand is a motif. This woman was very self-sacrificing and, seemingly, was loved by people. Therefore, seemingly, the power which prevents a disaster, unfortunate, and the evil eye was found out.

Although I was going to make it paper weight when it purchased, I am without realizing. It is not easy to own the door which deserves attaching this, either. It will be contained by the display shelf for the time being.
